Capturing Your Vision with Great Reference Photos

Saturdays, Jan 8 - 29, 2022

Saturdays, Jan 8 - 29,  10 am - 12 noon (4 classes - all virtual via Zoom)
Janet Schwartz, Instructor

The representational artist process starts by identifying your subject or capturing it in a photo.  In this 4-wk week series, we will focus on value and composition, practicing with reference photos initially provided by the instructors.  Students should be prepared to use their own reference photos for the last 2 classes.  You will learn:

How to select and take photos

Best time to take photos

How to crop photos for the best composition

How to identify the focal point

How to translate what you see and feel to your painting

The class will include instructor demonstrations, interaction, and individual critiques. Janet designed the Release Your Inner Artist programs as a practical strategy for beginners getting started and experienced painters interested in taking a fresh approach.  The classes are energetic, highly interactive and individualized to student needs.
