These four 2.5-hour zoom classes will take a deep dive into the pastel painting process with a focus on layering.  At the end of the 4 weeks, you will have completed 2-3 paintings.  The first and second classes will walk you through the entire process (cropping, value study & underpainting, layering and color: selecting a palette, blocking in, mark-making & edges. ) The last 2 classes will give you the opportunity to apply what you've learned using your own reference photos. There will be assignments and preparation required, especially for classes 3 and 4.   

 

Although I recommend that you sign up for all 4 classes for the discounted rate of $175, you can also sign up for just 2 classes (weeks 1-2 OR weeks 3-4) for $100.

Painting #1 (2-week walk through entire process together)

1) 9/8,   9:30-12 pm - Planning

2) 9/15, 9:30-12 pm  - Layering & Color

 

Painting #2, Painting #3 (Application with instructor support)

3) 9/22  9:30-12 pm -  Layering & Color (students will complete planning steps prior to class)

4) 9/29,  9:30- 12 pm - Layering & Color (students will complete planning steps prior to class)
